Rules of 7 Card Stud Poker Game play

7 card stud poker is a game that is played using one up-card and two down-cards. Later on the dealer deals players with three additional cards that are followed by the procedure of placing bets. After dealing the last card there is final bet round, which decides the winner of the game played. Player who has made best 5 card hand is declared as the winner of the pot. In this game the players are requested to bet low in the first two rounds while larger bets are generally placed on 5th, 6th and 7th cards played. The players also have an option of placing small or big bets if the fourth card is an open pair.

Rules of the 7 Card Stud Poker Game

  1. The round begins by placing bets and players are forced to bet depending on the basis of lowest up-card depending on their designation. Later on high hand betting can also be placed.
  2. The player who places forced bet is also allowed to open his cards for placing full bet. This procedure of increasing bets is not counted as raise.
  3. When playing the fixed limit games, players have an option to either bet on high or low betting limit, if the fourth card is a pair. In case the player, who is holding high with open pair, is having an option for check, then all other players also have the same option.
  4. In case the dealer accidentally over turns the 1st or 2nd card then the dealer will have to deal the 3rd card as face down. In case both hole cards are face up then it is considered as dead hand and players gets to collect his ante bet back. If the first dealt is low value card then the normal action starts in clockwise direction. Players have an option to fold, call or raise in this game. They are also allowed to place full bet or open full bet.
  5. If any player is not available at the time of his turn then he might lose his ante and forced bet. In this case the hand shall also be killed by the dealer the moment it is your turn.
  6. In case the player folds the hand without placing bet, still he shall be dealt with cards till his hand is killed by the dealer.
  7. If by chance a wrong player acts and places his bets, then the dealer shall immediately correct this action even before you have placed your bet. In this case another true low-card is allowed to bet and in case the player takes action after playing wrong hand, then the wager stands.
  8. Players are also expected to call before picking upcards or else his hand is considered as dead. Later on when discarding cards the hand is generally considered as live.
  9. In case any card is dealt off the board then it is considered as must play card, but is generally looked up as exposed card.
  10. In each game, low card, high hand, pairs and raises are always announced by the dealer. Flushes or straights are generally never announced.
  11. If the deck of cards don’t have sufficient cards left for each and every player then the cards are dealt again. In this game only the last card is not dealt again but all burn cards are also included in the bunch when dealing.
